What to Expect at NSO

Students

Before your Orientation date

  • Activate your myNMSU account
  • If you have not done so yet:
  • Send in your picture for your NMSU ID
  • Apply for housing
  • (Sunday, August 16 is Housing Move in Day)

At Orientation

  • Experience New Student Orientation with Student Orientation Leaders
  • Learn about opportunities and services at NMSU
  • The Math Placement Exam will be offered
  • If you have not yet done so:

  • Meet with an Academic Advisor
  • Register for classes
  • Confirm your financial aid award

 

Time Student Program
7:30 - 8:30 AM Check-in (Corbett Center)
8:30–11:30 AM Workshop
11:30–1 pm Lunch, info fair, math placement exam
PM Advising, registration, ID cards, housing, financial
aid (if you have not yet done so)

 

Guests (Parents & Families)

 

There is no formal program for guests on August 17, however, parents aand families are encourages to attend the information Fair and Afternoon Interest Sesssions, as well as visit individual offices.
